Dell Children’s Medical Center Volunteer Services Internship - offers opportunities for college students during spring, summer and fall semesters. Interested students must be able to work 8-20 hours per week.

Volunteer Services at Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas reviews all prospective adult, college, and teen volunteer applications, facilitates orientations and additional training, and works very closely with all volunteers once they are recruited. This is a busy, multi-tasked office with many chances to interact with the public; hone people-management skills; develop speaking skills, and learn more about a hospital setting.

Our office is seeking a mature, self starter type person who would like to develop volunteer management skills and who would enjoy working in a fast-paced, fun work atmosphere. Responsibilities also include answering the phone, filing, assisting with mail-outs, copying and general office management. Applicant should have good computer skills. Interns during the summer will assist in the management of the teen volunteers working at the hospital.

This is a part-time, not-for-pay internship. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.

Dell Children’s Medical Center Hospitality Services Intern

Requirements: 15-20 hours per week; excellent people skills; an ability to work in a high-paced, fun environment; ability to quickly learn new skills

Start date: Immediate
End date: Corresponds with end of college semester

Salary: Unpaid

Job Description: The Hospitality Services Intern will be trained to work in Dell Children's Medical Center's Hospitality Service Areas, including but not limited to the TreeHouse Gift Shop which provides hospitality services to the medical staff, our patients and their families. Primary responsibilities include assisting hospitality/retail managers in all aspects of department and store operations, delivering gifts to patients, assisting with customer service, basic accounting, bookkeeping and other back office duties.

The ideal candidate will have excellent people skills, be able to interact well with medical staff, hospital patients and their families, and be able to assist management with a variety of tasks. This is a great opportunity to build your resume, develop excellent people and customer service skills, learn bookkeeping and accounting basics and be part of your community by contributing to the mission of Dell Children’s Medical Center.
